Goals
- Let one or more users read mail from, and send mail as the shared mailbox.
- Make sure anything they send is saved in the mailbox’s own ‘Sent Items’ folder.
Steps
- Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center → https://admin.microsoft.com
- In the left-hand menu choose ‘Teams & groups’ ▸ Shared mailboxes.
- Select the mailbox you want to configure, a details pane appears on the right
- Need a new mailbox? Click the ‘Add a shared mailbox’ button and create it first.

- Under ‘Manage mailbox permissions‘ add the required users to:
- Read and manage permissions
- Send as permissions
- Still in the details pane, click edit next to ‘Sent items‘ and enable ‘Copy items sent as this mailbox’.

Completed
The selected users can now read from the mailbox, send as it, and every outgoing message is stored in its own Sent Items folder.
